Some mills have installed a splitter just before the sterilization process which have resulted in better sterilization by reducing the unstripped bunches effectively. However this improvement have resulted in some mills experiencing other problems after installing a splitter. Can fellow Millers share your thoughts and experience here of the pro and cons of installing a splitter??? Your sharing of views and comments are greatly appreciated.

So much been discussed on USB on use of Splitter. Can we share some experience in effect of FFA and condensates with the use of this Splitter?
Welcome. Is for the good of our industry.
Agreed with you, sufficient cooking time for downstream process. But i am afraid of the condensate losses. Fine tuning for the sterilisation time is very important, need to get the balance point, optimum sterilisation with lesser oil losses.
My mill installed in year 2019, so far so good. FFA not an issue, provided u don't split and keep overnight. USB average less than 5%,sometimes even 0%. Cooking time need to tune, easily reduced by 10minutes.Initially facing efb torn into pieces, and escaped into thresher. After did some fine tuning at splitter, reduced a lot torn efb.
My previous mill they have installed 1 unit of splitter. This splitter is suitable for low ffa mill as it will increase the ffa. It help for better sterilisation process and oil extraction.
What are the pros and cons in your case?
